Happy almost 8th birthday to this precious angel! We were so blessed to have our foster daughter ("LL," short for "Little Lady") visit us for Thanksgiving this year. While this year brought a lot of pain and sorrow when she had to leave us, it also brought with it lots of blessings and reasons to be thankful.
This ~65 pound, freckle-faced girl is the biggest blessing of our lives and we do not take it for granted that we're still able to have a relationship with her. We know this is not typical in foster care. We always knew there was a possibility that we wouldn't be able to talk to her again, let alone SEE her again, let alone have her back in our home for a week. We never would've dreamed that we'd be able to talk to her every couple of days, or that we'd already have a third visit set up for mid-December!
The little pterodactyl and I went to Arbor Hills last night to take a few pictures for her birthday, coming up in 2 weeks. These embody her personality so well, if I do say so myself. Pink. Glitter. Gold. Tennis Shoes. Exploring. Playing.
We are soaking up each minute we have with our girl this week. While the future is still slightly uncertain, we know this for sure: this is a miracle.
This is Jesus.
